Each year College Options hosts a Fall Workshop series focused on helping students complete their college applications.
In late October, the first in the series was focused on how to write Personal Statements for college applications. In November, the workshops were an opportunity for high school students to receive one- on-one or small group assistance with their applications. All but one of the workshops were held at night to allow both students and parents to attend, and they took place in the downtown Shasta College University Center.
The workshops were staffed by College Option Advisors who helped with financial aid questions, assisted with filling out the FAFSA, proofread Personal Statement, and more.
Most of the students who attended were seniors that were refining their college applications, but there was also had a handful of parents who came with important questions about finances, graduation rates, majors, safety of the campuses and more.
Many of the seniors expressed their gratitude, and one said, “The Advisors made all the application stuff easy to understand, so now I can go to collegeâ€.
So if you are a high school junior, be sure to look for the College Options Fall Workshop schedule next October to help ensure that the college application process is a success.
