College OPTIONS Awards Scholarships to 36 First-Generation College Students

Thirty-six high school seniors from Modoc, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama and Trinity County will receive the College OPTIONS Scholars scholarship for 2014-15. The students will attend Shasta College, College of the Siskiyous and non-profit four-year universities around the country.

 

 

The College OPTIONS Scholars program recognizes first-generation, income-eligible students who have demonstrated commitment to their academic and career goals. The scholarship amounts range from $500 – $4,000 and students have the possibility of renewing the scholarship for subsequent years in college. In addition to the financial award, College OPTIONS Scholars will receive mentoring from College OPTIONS staff throughout college.
