Health Career Fair for Siskiyou County 8th Graders
Over seventy 8th graders traveled to the Siskiyou County Fairgrounds to learn about a variety of health careers from eleven health care professionals ranging from physical therapists to dentists.
Students touched sheep hearts, listened to their own hearts beat, performed punch biopsies on oranges, and learned about health career pathways as they rotated through each station, led by high school students in the Yreka High School HOSA program. A panel of professionals ended the day by sharing the path to their professions and answering student questions.
This event was sponsored by the Health Alliance of Northern California and the Health Workforce Initiative.
