The UC Davis GEAR UP Partnership sponsored Olympic Gold Medalist, Dain Blanton, to make presentations during school assemblies at Enterprise High School and Shasta High School on Friday, May 2nd. 

Dain Blanton spoke to students about the importance of education, defining and aiming for success, knowing resources for support, and how to deal with difficulties and challenges.

Jeanne-Marie Carr, College OPTIONS Advisor said, “They were spectacular school assemblies that students and staff are still talking about! His talking-points, real-life experiences, and interactions hit home to a lot of students and adults!”  

Dain Blanton’s presentation was part of the Career Choices program which is utilized by the Shasta Union High School District.
