Mr. Robert Adams spent his 32-year career in education within the Redding Elementary School
District. Starting his career as a teacher with the district in 1991. Robert was a respected teacher at
Manzanita, Sycamore, and Bonny View Schools for nine years before seeking new challenges as an
Administrator. He served 3 years as the Assistant Principal at Sequoia Middle School and then at
Bonny View for another 3 years, where he led as Principal. Certain he could make a larger impact
on the outcomes of students, families, and the Redding community, Mr. Adams chose to continue his
career in education by following opportunities at the District level, where he served as Curriculum
and Student Services Director and Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services. This
eventually led him to Superintendent of the District and its partner districts, Shasta Union
Elementary and Igo-Ono-Platina Union Elementary. After serving for 6 years as Superintendent he
retired after 32 years of service.
He attended Chico State University, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and
his Master’s in Education.
Mr. Adams contributed to education at a state level by participating in the Association of School
Administrators Legislative Policy Committee for many years. Locally, he was a member of the
Reach Higher Shasta Executive Board, is an active member of the Board for Redding Rotary Club,
and held a seat on the Shasta County Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) Board.
